Must-Do as an employer during a job interview
-
PREPARE WELL
I do find that there is a fair balance between preparation and seeing what happens naturally. Being prepared ahead allow you to make best hiring decisions.
Pre-Interview Tips
Keep to time; keeping to scheduled time boost their confidence in the job they are applying for, and if time or venue would change, candidates should be notified ahead
Print out candidate’s resume; printing out candidate resume for review ahead of the interview is a good option for wise hiring process, allowing you to have a picture of the candidate before meeting them.
Prepare a list of questions; a better way not to run out of questions with your candidate is to create a list of questions to ask them
-
Be Methodical
Unstructured interview (that feels like a free-flowing conversation) can easily become non-job related
During-interview Tips
Choose questions carefully;to create a reliable assessment choices and to get precise answers to the questions you’ll be asking.
Practice note taking;benefit of this tip can’t be over emphasized, it makes you pay attention, understand answers, also to remember answers later on.
Rate candidate’s answer with consistent scale;rate every details; dressings, outspokenness, intelligence, body movement and so on.
